MORRISTOWN, NEW JERSEY (May 3, 2021) - The Provident Bank Foundation today announced it has awarded the Center for Non-Profits, the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers (CNJG), and the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) each a $10,000 sponsorship to support their efforts in boosting the nonprofit community.

“We are pleased to offer these valuable organizations sponsorships to support their missions, as they positively impact and bring systemic change to nonprofits and philanthropy across New Jersey and Pennsylvania,” said Samantha Plotino, Executive Director, The Provident Bank Foundation. “It was important for us to recognize each of these associations in their effort to elevate the philanthropy world and ensure meaningful funding across the nonprofit community.”

The Council of New Jersey Grantmakers (CNJG)

The Provident Bank Foundation’s $10,000 sponsorship will assist CNJG leadership develop a CNJG mission and statement of core values inclusive of racial equity and justice, build an intentional learning community, and determine educational and training needs for CNJG members united around these values.

“Philanthropy has long played a role in making our communities better, especially in times of upheaval,” said Maria Vizcarrondo, President and CEO, CNJG. “In the United States, we’ve passed through many milestones when we thought the healing could begin, but the intractable issues of racism still impact our nation’s communities. The philanthropic sector has an essential role to play in addressing the systemic racism that is holding our country back.”

The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO)

The Provident Bank Foundation’s sponsorship will support PANO’s board and staff training in the area of racial justice. Additionally, it will allow PANO to continue their strategic objective of revisiting, revisioning, and recreating their Standards for Excellence program with a small cohort of diverse nonprofit professionals and board members.

As the Center for Non-Profits continues its work in the community, its $10,000 sponsorship will support a four-part webinar series by experts who will discuss trends, strategies and tactics for nonprofits. Topics will include the current nonprofit landscape, financial uncertainty, organizational design, governance, HR issues, sustaining work culture, employee morale, marketing and fundraising. The sponsorship will also support the 2021 New Jersey Non-Profit Conference to be held in December.
